Typical
Entry Criteria
Our
clients share the common goal of wishing to recruit the highest
calibre of Business Strategists available within the international
marketplace. Talented candidates wishing to apply usually fulfil
the following criteria:
Work
Experience
Candidates
should have a fast track record within the industry
and functional practices in which
they have operated. Evidence of this is sought irrespective of the
seniority of the role that they are applying for.
It
is usually, but not always, the case that these high achievers will
have worked in an international strategic environment for leading
Strategy Houses, Industry `blue chip` Corporations or Investment
Banks. In the latter case, it is common for a candidate to have
been involved within Corporate Finance / M&A work. Often candidates
will have won internal Awards and Honours for projects and granted
Academic Sponsorships from their employers.
An
exception to the work experience requirement might be an entry-level
graduate. In this instance, we look for evidence of pro-activity
in seeking industry internships and an offer to rejoin that / those
firm(s) following completion of studies.
Candidates
seeking a placement within the United Kingdom must be fluent in
English and hold an EU work permit.
Academic
Achievement
A
candidate must have a first class academic record throughout his
/ her early years schooling and into adult education.
Our
global candidates come from international secondary and high schools
that are governed by many different types of educational system.
Progressing from this stage to Undergraduate degree level, we will
look for a minimum of an Upper Second classification and preferably
First Class Honours, from a leading university. This assumes a United
Kingdom example and we will assess each foreign candidate on an
individual merit basis.
A
common candidate level of entry into a Strategy House is at Post
MBA level. In this instance, candidates may have attended one of
the following leading business schools.
As
an alternative to an MBA, or later on in their career candidates
often choose a wide variety of specialist Professional Academic
Studies. These include, but are not limited to a Doctorate, Masters,
Law or Medical qualification.
We
require candidates to supply us with full details of all grades
attained within academia, including GPAs, GMATs and Z-Scores. This
will provide our clients with an accurate picture as to candidate
suitability for the position on offer and speed up the application
process.
Extra-Curricular
Activity
Our
clients are looking for exceptional people and strong evidence of
this will differentiate them from another applicant.
Individuals
wishing to apply should supply full details of extra curricular
achievement throughout their life. This frequently makes the difference
between a successful and an unsuccessful application. This varied
evidence may include recognition, awards gained or time spent in
any of the following:
Extra-Curricular work activity (e.g. lecturing / projects / specialist
research)
Academic qualifications gained whilst working
Entrepreneurial activities
Charity work
Political activities
Sporting achievements
